So it was interesting to see that a recent survey of investors around the globe found that Australians are among the world’s leaders when it comes to investing in real estate.
The international survey of over 4,000 affluent investors by one of the world’s largest asset managers, Legg Mason, found that on average, Australian investors invest 27% of their investment portfolio in the property market.
This compares with a global average of 17% in real estate. The survey also found that on average, these investors were receiving an average annual return of 6.2% on their investment.
Interestingly, most Australian investors must be happy with the performance of their property investments, and confident about the long term future of the property market, as 29% of those surveyed said that they planned to increase their real estate holdings over the next twelve months.
