Barry Plant real estate market wrap

A recent article in The Age revealed some interesting facts on the ways that Melbourne’s population is increasing showing that two-thirds of the population growth in the past year has been from overseas migration.

The top most popular suburbs for these migrants was Melbourne, Clayton, Carlton, North Melbourne, Dandenong, Box Hill, Burwood, Tarneit, Docklands and St Kilda. Cranbourne East received the most internal migration of anywhere in Australia over the past year.

Australians also liked moving to Mernda, Melton South, Beaconsfield-Officer, Tarneit, Truganina, Wollert, Hillside, Point Cook – East and Mickleham – Yuroke. Melbourne’s population grew by about 120,000 people last year, and that’s great news for the housing market.
