Barry Plant is working for wishes in November

Normally, October is Wishtober, the month that Barry Plant offices work to raise funds for Make-A-Wish® Australia, a wonderful organisation that grants wishes for critically ill children and teenagers. But, as we all know, these times aren’t normal. So, this year, we’ve pushed out our fundraising month to November and re-named it Wishvember. Still a full month totally dedicated to raising money for Make-A-Wish.

Every Barry Plant office is supporting this cause and a percentage of the commission from every property sold in November will be donated to Make-A-Wish.  Barry Plant Corporate will also be donating to the cause and many of our offices and team members will be organising additional fundraisers - where they can do so safely.

We’ve been supporting Make-A-Wish since 2014 and in that time we have raised over $743,000 for them. That contribution has powered countless incredible wishes that empower sick children with hope and joy when they need it most.

This year, the face of our Wishvember campaign is Alannah (pictured above). She is an inspiring wish child who has lived with a neuro-developmental disability since birth. In between her visits to hospital, she developed a love for horses and at primary school was introduced to the Riding for the Disabled Association where she met a horse called Teddy and developed a special bond with him. Teddy was just on loan to the Riding for the Disabled Association and when his owners put Teddy up for sale, Make-A-Wish stepped in and made sure that Alannah and Teddy would never be separated. Now 14, Alannah gets to ride him several hours a week and it’s a special time for her.

It is stories like this that make us so proud to be supporting this wonderful organisation.
