Easing out of the latest lockdown

After two weeks of lockdown in metropolitan Melbourne we are easing out of lockdown as of 11:59pm (Thursday 10th of June). Regional Victoria has been operating under eased restrictions for a week and will enjoy even more freedoms from this time.

What does this mean for real estate?

Metropolitan Melbourne

  • Inspections are by appointment only and will be limited to 10 people – always adhering to the one person per 4 sqm rule. Speak to your agent about booking a spot at an inspection.
  • Public auctions are allowed outdoors. There is a limit of 50 people and everyone in attendance must register using the Victorian Government QR code. People will still be able to bid online – so if you are not comfortable attending an outdoor auction, contact the agent for details on how to be part of it.
  • NOTE: Regional Victorians should not attend inspections or auctions in metropolitan Melbourne
  • Our offices are now open to the public. If you are coming to one of our offices, please wear a mask and make sure you register using the QR code on display.

Regional Melbourne

  • Open for inspections will be limited to 10 people* – always adhering to the one person per 4 sqm rule. Speak to your agent about booking a spot at the inspection. (*We are waiting on government confirmation of this number.)
  • Public auctions are allowed outdoors. There is a limit of 50 people and everyone in attendance must register using the Victorian Government QR code. People will still be able to bid online – so if you are not comfortable attending an outdoor auction, contact the agent for details on how to be part of it.
  • NOTE: At this stage, people from metropolitan Melbourne are not able to attend inspections or auctions in regional Victoria. You will be asked for your photo ID to confirm where you live.

As always, in all our interactions with you we will observe the highest level of safety:

  • Our agents will not attend any appointment if they are unwell or have been in a hotspot or believe they have been exposed in any way to COVID-19.
  • We ask that you don’t attend if you are unwell or have knowingly been potentially exposed to COVID-19.
  • Everyone will wear a mask.
  • Everyone will maintain social distancing.
  • Please bring your own pen.

Hopefully we will have further easing of restrictions in the coming days but these eased restrictions mean we can more effectively help you buy, sell and lease out properties. In the meantime, stay safe.

This information is as we understand it at the time of writing but may change with the release of formal documentation by the Victorian Government.
