There was also some good news for real estate this week with inspections now being allowed to be conducted with up to 10 people at a time from two households, so that's going to make it easier for us to meet the huge demand that we're experiencing for people right now who want to inspect properties.
Hopefully, that will change again on the 9th of November when, if we move to the same settings as regional Victoria, we'll then be able to have up to nine people inspect from multiple households at the same time - but we'll have to wait for further announcements on that.
Many more properties for sale but still not enough to meet demand.
Well, since we re-opened for real estate on the 29th of September we have seen a big increase in the number of properties coming onto the market and in fact across the Barry Plant Group we've seen about a 25% lift in our total stock but that's still not enough to meet the huge demand that we're experiencing right now. Last week across Victoria, in the Barry Plant Group alone, we sold 200 properties and that's about a 500% increase on what we were seeing some four weeks ago.
Great results are being achieved.
Right now well presented, well-marketed homes are achieving some really good results. Let me share a couple of examples with you. Number 9 Whitton Court in Rowville attracted 27 inspections and three offers and after being marketed with a price range of $820,000 to $890,000 it sold for $910,000 using our exclusive Sale by SET DATE® and it sold three weeks prior to the original closing date for offers.
A beach-side townhouse in Aspendale also attracted a lot of interest, and after 22 private inspections it sold in just seven days for $1,346,000, which was some $46,000 above the expected selling price. And our regional offices are also seeing very strong demand. Our Mildura office had 60 email and phone enquiries in the first 24 hours of marketing this property in Joe Court, which resulted in 22 inspections and a sale within five days for $408,000 - which was well above the vendor's expectations. And finally, our Highton office in Geelong achieved a brilliant result for a family home in Fernhill Drive, which attracted 46 inspections, five offers and a final result of $761,000 which was $71,000 above the expected sale price. So as you can see we're achieving some amazing results right across the Barry Plant network and right across Victoria but we still need more homes to sell to meet the huge demand that we're experiencing right now.
