The road ahead for the Cranbourne market

Now that we have had a chance to get our first look at the Victorian Government’s ‘Road Map’, two things have become clear.

Firstly, we now have an outline of the path ahead as Melbourne tries to emerge from a very confusing and stressful six months. But secondly, it seems that any return to a property market in the south-eastern suburbs that is even close to ‘normal’ may still be a while away, particularly if you’re keen to participate in activities like physical property inspections, (let alone open houses), and the weekly entertainment provided by public auctions.

Based on this scenario, it seems that computer screens and digital technology are going to continue to play a key role in the process, in the early part of the Spring market at least. However, if you think that this means almost no activity in the local property market, think again.

Here’s some interesting facts:

  • During August, when Stage 4 restrictions were very firmly in place, our team at Barry Plant Cranbourne was still able to successfully negotiate property sales for our vendors.
