All time records smashed!

October was the month of records in Victoria and within the Barry Plant Eastern Group, paving the way for a strong finish to this year’s selling season.

New data released by realestate.com.au revealed the state set a new record for the number of auction sales in the month of October, surpassing the previous best of 3,640 sales achieved in October 2017. The second last week of October was also the second busiest auction week of 2021 with 1,750 auctions.

Closer to home, our own Barry Plant Eastern Group has just completed all-time sales records across our four locations and achieved record results for our clients. I am very proud of our team and their efforts.

With a whopping 118.5 per cent increase in the number of property listings in the four weeks to October, along with the fact there is a strong appetite among buyers and sellers alike, the supercharged nature of the current market is expected to continue right up until Christmas and potentially overflow into the early months of 2022.

Yet again, we saw a significant number of buyers out in force at our open homes and auctions today, with the strong competition among buyers fuelling sustained competitive bidding. As such, a number of homes were sold at a high price under the hammer.
