New financial year starts with a BANG for Barry Plant Manningham

Buyers were very determined today to start the new financial year with success. Despite the bleak weather, attendances at opens and auctions were up and activity was strong when we called for opening bids. Most of our team’s auctions sold comfortably today with two of them flying past expectations by $300,000 and even $400,000.

The Melbourne market has been strong since January with clearance rates across Metropolitan Melbourne regularly sitting between 75% and 80%. What many buyers don’t know, is that when you look at the Eastern suburbs, where we operate, in isolation, the clearance rate is regularly around 90%. Given that many experts describe a “Boom market” as one where clearance rates top the 80% mark, it would appear that Melbourne’s East is well and truly in growth territory once again.

Great results continue to demonstrate how well our market has recovered. Just last week the Barry Plant Manningham team achieved another record, with the sale of 3 Dalkeith Court for $4,050,000. The highest price paid for a residential home in Doncaster East! The 5-bedroom property with tennis court and pool on just over 1400 sqm will certainly be a lovely home for the new owners.
