With over 1350 properties across Melbourne booked for auction today (according to Domain data), many were speculating that the increased volume of homes available for sale would halt the growth of property prices. But as we saw at a number of our auctions today across multiple suburbs in Melbourne’s north-eastern, many properties sold well above our vendors’ reserve prices on the back of competitive bidding among a large cohort of buyers.

Given the oversupply of buyers active in the marketplace, homeowners still have plenty of time to capitalise on the current market’s ‘hot’ status and list and sell their home before the Christmas break.
