With the AFL Finals now officially with us, the Uniting Church in Airport West has organised a special Men’s Football Breakfast which will be held on Saturday September 22nd, (Preliminary Final weekend).

This event is designed to enable local men to enjoy a morning of fellowship and footy related entertainment. So not only can you enjoy a cooked breakfast in your favourite footy team colours, but there will also be some Footy Trivia and some live footy-related music from Laurie Merrigan, (so it might be an idea to practice your footy theme songs before you go).

The main guest on the morning will be none other than Barry Davis, who not only played 218 games with the Essendon Football Club, but he kicked 65 goals and was the Captain, Coach and Best & Fairest winner at the Bombers. He then went on to play 71 games and kick 54 goals with North Melbourne, where he was also Captain and the winner of a Best and Fairest award there as well. Just to cap off an impressive record, he was a Premiership player with both sides!

This event kicks off at 8am on Saturday 22nd September at 72 Roberts Road in Airport West. You are invited to bring some footy memorabilia with you if you like. The cost is just $12 per head, but you need to book by Saturday 15th September, so you can be sure there’ll be enough breakfast to go around.

To book your spot, you can call Hedley Harris on 0487 323 900 or Jim Penna on 0448 753 800.
