Demand continues in post-lockdown conditions

As we mentioned in last week’s Update, there’s very little that will slow down a motivated homebuyer in the current competitive property market, and that includes a lockdown.

Despite the challenges imposed by the social distancing restrictions, the Barry Plant team in Brimbank was able to negotiate several strong sales during the lockdown. Indeed, they were so successful that every single one of our scheduled auctions this weekend had already been sold by the middle of last week!

Some of these recent results included:

Hillside: 17 Saronvale Crescent. This lovely rendered three-bedroom home on 813sqm received two strong early offers, resulting in a very satisfying pre-auction sale for $705,000.

Hillside: 47 Botanic Drive. This double-storey five-bedroom home attracted strong interest from local families keen to upsize, resulting in a pleasing mid-week sale at $750,000.

Hillside: 53 Domain Drive. Originally scheduled for auction during the lockdown, this attractive four-bedroom home in The Parks Estate received a strong offer the day we came out of lockdown, selling for $775,000.

St Albans: 2/6 McRae Avenue. Strong enquiry levels from market entrants and investors saw this two-bedroom unit near Victoria University Secondary College go from “Just Listed” to sold in no time at all.

St Albans: 22 Milton Avenue. Well presented and maintained, this two-bedroom home was another to experience a quick result, with the SOLD sign going up at $530,000.

St Albans: 28 Larkspur Drive. Framed by towering palm trees, this eye-catching three-bedroom home on a corner block (pictured) was sold in under one week, with four buyers competing before it sold for well above expectations at $730,000.

Taylors Hill: 26 Eloura Circuit. Capturing a serene outlook over Taylors Hill Recreation reserve, this four-bedroom townhouse with excellent outdoor entertaining possibilities sold for $610,000.

As we touched on last week, the official start of Spring is now just a month away, so if you need any assistance or advice on getting your property ‘market ready’ why not give us a call this week at Barry Plant St Albans on 9367 7044.
