A 'new world' with new opportunities

The decision to reintroduce tighter lock-down rules in metropolitan Melbourne certainly created a few challenges for a number of property sellers and buyers this week.

However, as you may have seen in the video we released on Friday evening, whilst some would view the next six weeks as a whole new world for the property market, our team at Barry Plant was ready to make the necessary adjustments to ensure our clients enjoyed a smooth transition to the different property inspection rules.

Some auction dates were brought forward, some auctions went from onsite to online, but in the end not only did our team manage to achieve another 100% auction success rate in the City of Brimbank, but the entire Barry Plant group did the same selling 20 out of 20 online auctions this week!

Here’s the details on some of our recent results:

Hillside: 8 Joseph Drive

Located just a short stroll from Parkwood Green Primary School, this well-maintained three-bedroom home attracted good interest from a number of keen first home buyers. The online auction saw three bidders compete, taking the sale price to $615,000.

Hillside: 53 Timele Drive

Perhaps it was the pretty front façade framed by landscaped gardens, but this much-loved three-bedroom home drew bids from seven separate buyers at the online auction before the gavel fell at a very satisfying $632,500.

Hillside: 10 Canopy Crescent

This stylish contemporary four-bedroom home certainly got people talking from the moment it hit the market, and that strong general interest translated into a highly competitive online auction. After being declared ‘on the market’ at $715,000, the bidding continued all the way to an exceptional sale at $760,000.

St Albans: 44 Pinoak Street

We saw an immediate reaction from buyers the moment this attractive four-bedroom home hit the market for the first time since new. Buyers responded positively to the flexibility of the floorplan, particularly for those who enjoy entertaining outdoors, with the SOLD sign going up at a very satisfying $626,000.

Taylors Hill: 16 Bowman Court

Given the strong buyer interest in this single-level four-bedroom home located moments from Watervale Shopping Centre, the decision was made to reschedule the auction to Wednesday afternoon so that we could enable all of the buyers to compete openly in an onsite auction. Three strong bidders raised their hands on the day, resulting in a pleasing sale at $650,000.

If you are thinking of making a move in the current market, keep in mind that the Barry Plant network has successfully sold more than 2,170 properties during the past four months, despite the ever-changing conditions that Covid-19 has imposed. So, if you’d like to talk to someone who knows how to get results in any market, feel free to give us a call at Barry Plant St Albans on 9367 7044.
