Record Auction numbers no issue for keen buyers

The property market analysts were telling us that this would be Melbourne’s busiest auction weekend for the year so far, but that didn’t seem to worry too many motivated home buyers, just as the steady downpour of rain didn’t seem to concern anyone either!

We moved quite a few auctions indoors to protect people from the elements, but while the rain kept coming down, the hands kept going up to bid for property in Melbourne’s high-demand western suburbs. These included:

ARDEER – 22 McLaughlin Street

A tastefully modernized 3-bedroom home with generous undercover outdoor entertaining space attracted such strong interest that the vendors decided to accept a convincing early offer of $650,000 rather than waiting for this week’s scheduled auction

ARDEER – 82 Suspension Street

Whilst the older style timber home offered 5 bedrooms, the 600sqm corner block in a General Residential Zone offered even more potential, at least according to the developer who purchased it after some post-auction negotiations for $687,000.

SUNSHINE – 119 Hertford Road

A mix of renovators, builders and investors gathered to see this 3-bedroom home across the street from Sunshine Harvester Primary School do under the hammer. Once again, post-auction negotiations came in to their own in seeing this one sold for a very pleasing $680,000. As you can see from the photo, the vendors seemed pretty pleased with the result!

SUNSHINE WEST – 9 Buckingham Crescent

With Buckingham Reserve right across the road, there were plenty of local families keen to make this 3-bedroom brick veneer home their own. Multiple bidders pushed the price well over the reserve, finally settling at a very pleasing $662,000.

SUNSHINE WEST – 40 Bardsley Street

This was another one where home buyers took the lead. A charming 3-bedroom timber home with a 4-car garage saw competitive bidding all the way to a super sale at $730,000. A sought-after location certainly made the difference here.
