300 Buyer inspections tells the tale

Anyone who has been following the property market closely would not be surprised to learn that it’s been a remarkably busy week for everyone on the Barry Plant team in Melbourne’s north-west.

Last weekend’s announcement regarding the early easing of Covid-19 restrictions certainly produced an immediate response, with a huge surge of activity by buyers and tenants across the City of Brimbank and the City of Melton this week.

In fact, our team’s phones started ringing almost as soon as Dan Andrews finished speaking last Sunday with buyers wanting to lock in property inspection times from Monday morning onwards. Our team really hasn’t stopped running since.

As of 5pm on Saturday afternoon, our sales team had already completed 297 one-on-one physical inspections of properties for sale since Monday, and there are more taking place as I write this Update. Thus, it’s fair to say that the Spring property market for 2020 has well and truly hit the ground running after a delayed start, which is fantastic news for anyone planning on selling in the coming months.

The news has also been incredibly positive for landlords. After successfully leasing 36 properties during September without a single physical inspection, (a remarkable feat in itself), the Brimbank Property Management team has received another 29 rental applications so far this week alone! Results like these are a reflection of the pent-up demand that we have been reporting in recent weeks.

Of course, if you are heading out to inspect any properties this week, please keep in mind that there are some important rules to help keep you safe. These include the use of sanitizer prior to entering the property, not touching any surfaces, limiting your time in the property to 15 minutes plus only inspecting one-on-one with the agent. So please follow the rules when the time comes.

Remember, there are probably just nine or ten weekends of prime Spring activity before things begin to slow down for the year, so if you’d like some experienced advice on how to make the most of the opportunities that this pent-up demand has created, be sure to give one of our team at Barry Plant Caroline Springs and Taylors Lakes a call this week on 9390 8333.

Best wishes,

James Hatzimoisis & John Aaron Nakic
