Whilst concerns have been raised in recent months regarding the safety of several gas heaters, it should also be noted that the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has issued a product recall following a safety alert on two air-conditioning units, due to a potential fire risk.

The products involved in this safety alert are the Braemar SCHF21C3S and the Braemar SCHF25C3S Outdoor Air Conditioning Units produced by Seeley International Pty Ltd. The affected units are 3-phase 21kw and 25kw outdoor units which were sold nationally through a variety of distributors from October 2016 until March 2018.

If you believe that your rental property contains one of these units, it is important that you contact your Property Manager as soon as possible. As this product has been recalled, it is important that the unit is not used until it has been inspected and, if necessary, modified.

A safety alert like this one is a timely reminder for all landlords to ensure that all fixed appliances are serviced regularly.

Of course, if you have any questions about the safety of any aspect of your rental property, don’t hesitate to contact to give our professional the team at Barry Plant Brimbank Rentals a call.
