Our first online auction since the lifting of the barriers also confirmed how strong the demand from buyers is right now. We auctioned a well-maintained four-bedroom home in Colburn Court, Hillside (pictured) on Saturday. This owner-built home was being offered for sale for the first time and attracted plenty of interest from the day it hit the market.
Saturday’s auction had six registered bidders. The competition opened with a bid of $550,000, then 27 bids later the gavel fell at a very pleasing $656,500, which was above our happy vendor’s reserve price. It was smiles all round, and further confirmation of the effectiveness of our online auctions.
As you may have seen on the back page of this weekend’s Realestate lift-out in the Herald-Sun, the Barry Plant network has been able to assist a remarkable number of Victorians to achieve their property goals. In fact, despite all the restrictions of the past few months, our virtual and online solutions assisted our network of agents to achieve sales or settlements on over 2000 properties during August and September! As they say in the classics, “Where’s a will (and some skill), there’s a way.”
The good news for buyers is that we are seeing some really exciting new listings coming onto the market as well, so whilst demand is still stronger than the available supply, there are definitely opportunities there if you’re quick to respond.
