Buyers are clearly keen to act

Anyone who has been following our weekly Market Reports over the past few months will know that the team at Barry Thomastown has been experiencing a steady increase in buyer activity which has reflected a growing sense of confidence among homebuyers in Melbourne’s northern corridor.

However, it was interesting to see a couple of different data sources this week that have confirmed that this growing strength in buyer demand is much broader in scope than just our local market.

One of these sources of market information is the Barry Plant network itself. Being a member of Melbourne’s most successful real estate sales network gives us a huge edge in many areas of our business, and one of these is access to up-to-the-minute data on what is happening across the Melbourne property market from people with “hands-on knowledge” of the market, our network colleagues.

In case you missed the back cover of the Realestate lift-out in the Herald-Sun on Saturday, (June 6th), our network reported almost 6400 buyer inspections in the space of just one week towards the end of May. Buyer traffic like this confirms just how strong demand is in the current market.

We also saw some updated numbers during the week from realestate.com.au, Australia’s largest real estate portal. This data showed that searches for properties for sale on their website have been steadily increasing. In fact, search activity has increased for the past nine weeks in a row, to the extent that buyer searches have more than doubled over that period!

When you add in the further easing of restrictions on attendance numbers at Open Houses and Auctions this week, it’s not surprising that the team at Barry Plant Thomastown has been busy again this week putting smiles on the faces of clients across the northern suburbs.
