Suburb profile: Montrose, VIC 3765

Located 33km east of Melbournes CBD, Montrose is a beautiful suburb poised at the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges, with a refreshing, treed mountain outlook and a quiet, friendly, country town feel.

You can really enjoy the best of both worlds here, head up the mountain to stroll through the charming Olinda or Sassafras, take in the views at sky high or take in some fresh air through one of the many walking tracks through the trees. Or, head into the city in less than an hour via the eastern freeway.

The town centre hosts a public library, a town hall, a great primary school, IGA supermarket and various cafes, takeaway restaurants and beauty salons.

Horse riding trails, parks, reserves and bicycle tracks are all available in Montrose, the Fire Trail is most popular for the fitness minded, you can park your car and take the fire trail ‘off road’ up the side of the mountain. Once you reach the top, the views from sky high are your reward. For one of the best playground experiences you’ll ever find, Montrose Community Playground wins hands down!
