Adelaide boutique agency leads South Australia for stellar customer service.

Going that extra mile for its valued clients has won Barry Plant Norwood the 2022 Australian Achiever Award for South Australia.

The Adelaide agency was granted the award in the state’s real estate category after notching up more than 80 per cent in overall satisfaction for service to their clients.

And this is the second year the office has won the gong, according to agency director Linda Baker.

“We are over the moon to be recognised for two years in a row,” she said.

“But we are not resting on our laurels and constantly aim to improve, and hopefully win the national award.”

The Norwood team of seven dedicated real estate professionals goes above and beyond to assist their clients buy, sell or manage properties.

“We are always finding ways to do a little bit extra to achieve the best result,” Ms Baker said.

“This also includes helping with any issues our clients may face, including mediating with tenants and neighbours, to ensure a stress-free experience.”

As presentation is of the utmost importance, the team also helps prepare and stage properties for sale or rent.

They will organise reputable cleaners, handymen or gardeners and monitor their progress, which is a service particularly invaluable to interstate clients.

“It takes extra time and energy but it’s worth it,” Ms Baker said.

“Many agents are transactional but for us, a client is for life.”

The agency also prides itself on its sales and negotiating skills, and on creating the best strategy based on individual needs and circumstances.

Established in Norwood about seven years ago as Barry Plant’s first agency in South Australia, it services all suburbs across Adelaide and regional areas.

The boutique office is directed by Ms Baker, Elesa Wood and Michael Duff, who offer a combined 50 years’ experience in the industry.

Repeatedly achieving record prices for sellers, Ms Baker has been awarded medals by the Real Estate Institute of South Australia, including Salesperson Of The Year for north/north-east suburbs.

Passionate about her work, she loves meeting new people and believes everyone has their unique requirements.

“I listen to their needs and develop personalised strategies and marketing campaigns to ensure the best outcome,” Ms Baker said.

Currently leading the agents across the Barry Plant network for customer satisfaction, Elesa Wood uses the marketing and communication skills she has honed over her career as a successful agent.

“Effective, frequent and transparent communication is key in any real estate transaction,” she said.

As understanding the market is critical to success, Ms Wood constantly researches statistics and trends, which keeps her up-to-date and pro-active.

Also a skilled real estate agent with a passion for helping people, Michael Duff enjoys working with clients to establish a strategy that suits their property and life situation.

He implements a target marketing campaign and uses his negotiation skills to achieve the best result for his client.

“I aim to deliver the highest standard of customer experience to the people of Adelaide using all the resources of the Barry Plant network,” Mr Duff said.

The three directors focus on sales and also involve themselves with property management.

“We make it a priority to get to know all our landlords,” Ms Baker said.

“When we are across both departments, we can pitch in and help when required.”

The property management department includes Victoria Monahan and Jesse Jacobs, who is a multiple award winner at state and national levels.

“I ensure our clients’ properties are cared for as I would my own,” Mr Jacobs, who is also a landlord, said.

“I have a genuine interest in all the homes I manage, and have a long-lasting passion for property that sets me apart from most others.”

The Barry Plant Norwood team also includes office administrator Mylene Alcoriza and marketing manager Nikita Longden, who has worked in the industry for more than 12 years.

“Nikita devises wonderful marketing campaigns, which are offset by her superb social media knowledge and skills,” Ms Baker said.

“She is also a sensational photographer.”

Teamwork plays a major part in Barry Plant Norwood’s success in customer service, Ms Baker added.

“It’s important that we all work together towards a common goal.”
