Bulleen: Agent’s Instagram post leads to stellar sale
A young family has splashed out on a lavish Bulleen property after spotting it on Instagram.
The 25 Dumossa Avenue house with five bedrooms fetched $3.85 million at a twilight auction on May 8, Barry Plant Manningham agent Harry Lai said.
“The buyer did not come through the normal channels but saw the property on my Instagram page,” he said.
“There were three parties interested, including a buyer from Hong Kong and another local buyer.”
The new owners are upsizing to the stunning five-bedroom entertainer on 774sq m. Offering indulgent living, dining and accommodation options, it is enhanced by a stunning inground pool, outdoor kitchen and seating.
“The property is a standout in the suburb,” Mr Lai said.
“It attracted more than 80 groups at inspections, including quite a few builders who came to get inspiration from the owner-builder home.”
The property had a $3.75-$3.95 million price guide and the result was the second-highest residential sale price in Bulleen, according to sale records.
The seller opted for a midweek auction as a Saturday auction was ruled out for religious reasons, according to Mr Lai.
“We suggested a midweek twilight auction as there would be less competition from other listings,” he said.
The property passed in at $3.8 million and sold after negotiations for $50,000 more. The seller, who built the house more than two years ago, is keen on building a similar property.
East Doncaster Secondary College location a key attraction for Donvale buyers
On May 4, Mr Lai also auctioned 1/43 Tunstall Road, Donvale, for $1.42 million, which was well above the seller's expectations.
The front townhouse drew 10 buyers, with five putting up their hands at the contested auction.
“Most of those interested were first-home buyers and were attracted to the location in a popular school zone,” Mr Lai said
“We had nearly 150 groups at the inspections.”.
Tucked in a complex of eight properties, the four-bedroom, three-bathroom home on 292sq sold to a young couple seeking their first home.
