With her extensive industry experience and proven leadership skills, Pennell is poised to guide The Barry Plant Group into its next phase of growth and success.

Having held various executive positions, most recently as the Group’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) and within other prominent agencies across the country, Pennell has consistently demonstrated her ability to drive operational excellence, build high-performance teams, and deliver exceptional results.

“This role is the culmination of more than two decades of experience in the real estate industry across a broad variety of remits,” Ms Pennell said.

“As well as being a great opportunity to step into a role where I can use all of my skills effectively, it also feels like a homecoming in so many different ways, because Barry Plant is more than just a real estate network, it’s a group of people who act with real purpose - a tribe.”

As the new female leader heads the team, the changes are taking effect quickly and strongly with the opening of three new offices in the past month.

“I can say we are now officially in a transformation phase,” Ms Pennell said.

“In an environment where agents are becoming less and less trusted by consumers and reputation is everything, the Barry Plant story is one that needs to be told, particularly to others in our industry.”

Ms Pennell will succeed longstanding veteran Mike McCarthy, whom she described as ‘trustworthy and professional’.

McCarthy and the humbling, giving nature of the organisation were her main motivations in joining the group.

“I only recently discovered the network is so highly involved in giving back to the community, doing the right thing for the right reasons without any fanfare,” she said.

“The group has been a huge supporter of hundreds of worthy causes over the years but has never sought any attention - no talk but plenty of action.”

McCarthy looks forward to working with Pennell in the coming years as executive director, and to deliver on their vision to be the most recommended brand in real estate.

“Lisa’s wealth of industry knowledge and experience is invaluable to our group,” he said.
