Millions splashed on prestige homes in Taylors Lakes and Hillside

Buyers at the upper-end of the market are eyeing multi-million dollar properties in Melbourne’s north-western suburbs.

Multiple groups of keen buyers attended the first VIP open house inspection of one of the region’s finest homes at 15 McCubbin Drive, Taylor Lakes (see photos below).

The potential buyers were impressed with the property’s presentation and value, according to Barry Plant Taylors Lakes partner and sales manager Las Anastasiadis.

“They admired the home’s premium finishes and design,” he said.

“It’s a luxury offering with all the bells and whistles.”

The property’s size and magnificent outdoor entertainment zone, complete with a pool and putting green, attracted plenty of attention.

“A standout feature was the massive balcony where you can enjoy the fireworks on New Year’s Eve,” Mr Anastasiadis said.

With a price guide of $2.3-$2.5 million, the showpiece on 1350sq m in the blue-chip McCubbin Estate delivers an enviable lifestyle of luxury and privacy.

There is an elegant formal living room with a gas log fireplace, home office or study, vast family living and dining area, plus a super-sized designer kitchen with granite benchtops, euro appliances and a butler’s pantry.

The upper level includes a rumpus room with a kitchenette, plus an indulgent main bedroom with a marble spa ensuite and private balcony.

Boasting heaters, speakers, concealed bistro blinds and a built-in barbecue, the alfresco zone flows out to a self-cleaning pool and spa.

The sellers, who bought the home from an owner builder in 2002 and brought up their family there, were moving to an inner-city property.

Houses on large 1100-1500sq m blocks in the estate are increasingly sought after by families wanting the luxury lifestyle with extra space to entertain or work from home.

“It’s not easy to find properties of this size close to the city, as most blocks in the new subdivisions are only about 400-500sq m,” Mr Anastasiadis said.

“These are rare offerings that are snapped up quickly at prices above sellers’ expectations.”

A four-bedroom house on 1403sq m at 13 Drysdale Avenue (see photo below), sold quickly for $1.8 million.

The stunning single-level home with a massive 62-square interior attracted multiple offers, Mr Anastasiadis said.

“Everyone fell in love with this home,” he added.

“It was simply irresistible.”

Sprawling across the large block, the house has a grand entrance that leads to spacious living areas with high ceilings, hardwood black butt timber floors and cedar wall panelling.

It has a large formal lounge and dining area that flows to a decked pergola, stunning timber kitchen with granite benchtops and stainless steel appliances, and a large meals and family area.

A rumpus room with access to a bathroom and sauna, a magnificent outdoor entertainment zone, two study rooms plus an extra-large five-car garage add to its appeal.

Neighbouring Hillside is another haven for those wanting room to roam, particularly growing families and tradespeople needing space for machinery and vehicles.

In the highly regarded Hillside 2000 estate, a four-bedroom house on 2000sq m at 8 Stillia Court (see photo below) sold under the hammer for an astonishing $2.25 million.

The property attracted seven bidders who drove the price an eye-watering $400,000 above the seller’s reserve, according to Mr Anastasiadis.

The rare offering with a large man cave and shed, features solid timber flooring, a first-class theatre room and a home office with a private entrance.

Taking pride of place in the high calibre home is the decked alfresco area with stackable sliding doors and a built-in barbecue overlooking a solar heated pool and spa, and a cabana or gym room.

Another standout sale in the Hillside 2000 Estate was a five-bedroom house on 2700sq m at 71 Castlewellan Boulevard (see photo below), which attracted five bidders and sold above expectations for $1.911 million.

Sprawled behind a circular driveway, the house is tailor-made for a growing family and showcases multiple living zones, a premium blackwood timber kitchen, wet bar and a stunning outdoor entertainment area.

The exceptional property has a large workshop, extensive parking space and all the modern conveniences for an enviable lifestyle.

And in the prestigious Regency Rise Estate, a six-bedroom house on 1000sq m at 14 Sovereign Way (see photo below), changed hands for $1.225 million.

Set in a neighbourhood of fine properties, the updated family home has multiple living zones, luxe entertainment spaces and a kitchen designed to impress a masterchef.

It nestles near Hillside Primary School, medical clinics, shops and parks, with easy access to freeways and Watergardens Town Centre.
