Stacey Currie: Guest speaker at Barry Plant Event
Female professionals in the Barry Plant Group were delighted to hear from entrepreneur, author and ambassador for the Lighthouse Foundation, Stacey Currie at their recent Professional Women in Real Estate function.
Mother of five, Stacey Currie is an inspirational woman who has faced many obstacles in her life including becoming a mother at 15 and later spending many years in an abusive relationship. Through sheer grit, determination and against all odds, Stacey has pursued her dreams and built an extremely successful business, and this year was nominated in the Telstra Business Women’s Awards. Along with achieving her business goals, Stacey is passionate about her role as ambassador for the Lighthouse Foundation’s latest development - building homes in which to care for young mothers.
The Lighthouse Foundation assists traumatised and vulnerable young people to find long-term care and support within a family style setting in a “typical” suburban home. Stacey’s story proved that nothing is impossible, provided you have passion for what you do and a belief in yourself. Happy endings do happen – she is now happily married with five children.
Director and CEO of the Barry Plant Group, Mike McCarthy is pleased with the success of the group.
“Our professional women in real estate network is now entering its seventh year and has proven to be a great initiative. At Barry Plant more and more of our top performers are women and we believe that it’s important to help them by providing a vehicle where not only can they hear from inspirational and motivational speakers, but they can also network, find mentors and share the strategies that help them to succeed in real estate while meeting the challenges of achieving a work-life balance. Women are a wonderful asset to the industry”.
