Barry Plant's “Wishtober” initiative set to raise more than $115K towards granting wishes...
Last year, during October, the Barry Plant Group raised more than $115,000 for Make-A-Wish® Australia, an organisation that grants wishes to children diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions.
Their goal for October 2015 is to beat that figure. The Group has declared the month of October to be “Wishtober”, and each of the network’s 80 offices will make sizeable donations from the commissions on every property sold throughout the month.
The Corporate Office will also donate to boost the final amount, and further funds will be raised at a Gala Event early in November. CEO Mike McCarthy said the Group aims to beat last years’ phenomenal figure, and there’s no reason to doubt his optimism.
The Barry Plant Group is Victoria’s number-one real estate network, and has enjoyed record-breaking sales figures this year.
“Given this year’s stronger market, we hope to raise more than $100,000 through the per-sale contributions from the offices alone,” Mike said.
“With the Gala Event in its second year running, we are also confident we can raise more on the night than we did at last year’s event.” Last year Barry Plant raised $150,000 in total for Make-A-Wish.
“I am thrilled with the enthusiastic response of the franchisees to be involved in Wishtober again this year,” Mike said.
“They have all been so quick to jump on board and work towards beating last year’s fundraising effort.”
