Barry Plant Ballarat is teaming up with the Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre (BRICC) Wellness Centre for the 2nd year in a row to raise funds through a Cancer Wellness raffle.

Barry Plant Ballarat are once again partnering with the BRICC Wellness Centre through a Cancer Wellness fundraising raffle, with the hopes of raising money to assist the region’s largest cancer wellness centre.

The BRICC Wellness Centre is an organisation that is 100% community-funded, and provides free support, treatment, and education services to cancer patients across Ballarat and the Grampians Region.

“The Wellness Centre is a place of rest, away from the clinical areas of the hospital, where patients can access our services, speak to our wonderful support staff, and meet other patients who are going through treatment,’ said Simone Noelker, manager of the Wellness Centre. “We also provide support and education sessions for cancer patients to encourage them to take an active role in their treatment. Our centre is free of charge for all cancer patients and has become an important part of our patient's treatment. To provide our services, we rely on the community's generosity.”

Running a Christmas fundraiser in 2022 with some amazing prizes on offer, Barry Plant Ballarat helped raise a total of $14,210, with 100% of the proceeds going to the centre.

“We really love being part of this amazing fundraising opportunity, and are just thrilled that we are able to help such a worthwhile centre that does so many good things for so many good people at a time they really need it,” said Shane Finch, Chief Operating Office of Barry Plant Ballarat and Maryborough.

Barry Plant Ballarat are looking to smash their fundraising total from last year, which will only be helped with a very attractive first prize of a holiday package in the French countryside valued at almost $10,000.

“The first prize this year has created a lot of hype, so we are definitely hoping to eclipse last year’s fundraising total, which was a great effort on its own,” said Shane Finch.

Thanks to a number of very generous sponsors, the prizes up for grabs in this year’s raffle include:

1st PRIZE: Holiday package to the French countryside. Valued at $9,700

2nd PRIZE: IT Package. Valued at $1,320

3rd PRIZE: Gardening Package. Valued at $968

4th PRIZE: Split system air-conditioner. Valued at $899

“On behalf of Grampians Health Ballarat and our Wellness Centre, I'd like to acknowledge the ongoing support of our corporate partner and sponsor Barry Plant Ballarat,” said Sarah Masters, Head of Fundraising and Engagement for Grampians Health Ballarat. “We are delighted to partner with them again to bring back our second annual Cancer Wellness Raffle. Their generosity clearly demonstrates their commitment to all cancer patients and their families in our community.”

Sponsors and businesses that have helped to deliver the array of fundraising prizes include - Frank Ford Travel, Mould Men, DJP Plumbing, Ones & Twos plumbing, WINC, Avalon Nursery, Rapid Tree Solutions, Domain Real Estate, Sovereign Press, AJP Lawn and Garden Services, Bunnings Delacombe, Power Fm, and 3BA radio.
