Yes, Christmas might be just a week away, but if this week’s results are any indication it is clear that quite a few Melburnians are focusing on buying a home as their major Christmas purchase!
Among this week’s results were:
27 Lynne Street, Lalor
This fully renovated 3-bedroom home backing onto the Lalor Plaza carpark attracted such a positive response from buyers as soon as it hit the market that our vendors decided, rather than waiting for their scheduled auction, to accept a very strong early offer of $500,000.
22 Lloyd Avenue, Epping
This 3-bedroom brick home (pictured) on a generous 780sqm block attracted keen interest from first home buyers and investors who clearly liked the convenient location between the shops on High Street and Epping Secondary College. As a result, it sold under the hammer today for a record breaking $686,000!
19 Edmondson Street, Lalor
A good sized rumpus room was the extra attraction with this 3-bedroom home located a short walk from Epping Primary School and Lalor reserve. This saw 5 bidders competing, producing an outstanding sale at $555,000 which was $55,000 above the vendor’s reserve price.
44 Rockfield Street, Epping
A modern 3-bedroom in need of a little TLC situated near the Lyndarum shops also sold for a very satisfying $407,000.
21 Benaroon Drive, Lalor
As we mentioned last week, today’s scheduled auction wasn’t required as this quality 3-bedroom family home generated such strong interest that our vendors decided to accept a very strong offer of $541,500 early in the campaign.
Don’t forget that if you’re still keen to buy before Christmas, we still have a few outstanding opportunities available for a quick home buyer, including our twilight auction at 7pm this coming Wednesday evening (yes, 4 days before Santa arrives!) in Michigan Terrace, Thomastown. This beautifully renovated family home of 3 bedrooms and a study is as well located as it is good looking, so make sure you’re there on Wednesday evening to check it out.
