Buyers continue to vote with confidence

You would have forgiven a few homebuyers if they decided to focus on all things political this week rather than getting out and about at Open Houses and Auctions.

Yes, despite the distractions, we saw strong buyer activity in many areas again this week, with some competing strongly on auction day while others chose to make offers prior to auction so that they could enjoy their ‘democracy sausage’ in unhurried peace on Saturday.

Either way, this continuing confidence produced some outstanding sales results, including:

Ascot Vale: 8/237-239 Ascot Vale Road. This two-bedroom apartment situated within strolling distance of the trains and trams, cafes and shops, attracted good interest from a mix of market entrants and investors. It sold at auction for $430,000.

Essendon: 5/32 Napier Street. This two-bedroom, two-bathroom first-floor apartment featured an impressive wrap-around entertainer’s balcony of around 48sqm, an unusual bonus in today’s apartment market. As a result it sold well before offers were due to close on our Sale by Set Date® campaign, producing a very satisfying $705,000.

Essendon: 1/71 Deakin Street. Making a strong first impression with its colonial influences framed by a pretty picket fence (pictured), this two-bedroom home on a low maintenance block near Buckley Park enjoyed a strong result on auction day, with the SOLD sign going up at $845,000.

Keilor East: 45A Berembong Drive. As we mentioned last week, this refined four-bedroom town residence in a quiet tree-lined street near the Centreway shops sold prior to this week’s scheduled auction for $900,000.

Niddrie: 5 Wallis Mall. Scheduled for auction on Wednesday, this commercially zoned freehold retail property in the Mall sold during the week for $610,000.

We are anticipating an active few weeks coming up, (as soon as the dust settles on this week’s election), so if you are considering making a move in the City of Moonee Valley or surrounding suburbs, be sure to have a chat with our team this week. You can call Barry Plant Moonee Valley any time on 9373 0000.

Best wishes,
