Christmas comes early for local homeowners

With the holiday season getting closer by the day, it was pleasing to see so many of our vendors achieving exceptional sales results this week. Indeed, despite the rapid approach of Christmas, one even managed to secure a sale that exceeded their expectations by more than 17% - that’s quite a Christmas bonus, isn’t it!

Among this week’s results were:

Airport West: 1/9 South Road

This newly completed four-bedroom family home(pictured) enjoyed a high level of convenience with the shops in McNamara Avenue nearby. A very effective auction campaign produced a pleasing sale at $860,000.

Essendon North: 1/9 McCulloch Street

Convenience was also a key factor in the appeal of this spacious two-bedroom front unit, being a short stroll from the buzz of the Keilor Road cafés, North Essendon Village shops and city trams. Productive negotiations saw the SOLD sign go up immediately after the auction.

Keilor East: 15 Craig Street

So strong was the interest in this striking brand-new contemporary home that an offer made prior to this week’s scheduled twilight auction convinced our vendors not to wait. The SOLD sign went up on Monday after an outstanding sale was completed at $941,000.

Keilor East: 22 Lincoln Drive

One of two adjoining properties to go under the auctioneer’s gavel this weekend, this imposing five=bedroom home saw three bidders competing, resulting in a very pleasing sale at $1.095 million.

Keilor East: 24 Lincoln Drive

Whilst some onlookers were expecting the second of the auctions to go to the same buyer, this four-bedroom home ended up finding separate interest and was sold for $975,000.

Moonee Ponds: 3/36 Park Street

This ground floor apartment within walking distance of Queens Park made a real impact, due largely to the comprehensive renovations that our astute vendors had undertaken prior to selling. With five bidders lined up ready to compete, the opening bid of $610,000 was well in excess of our ecstatic vendor’s reserve. However, the contest didn’t stop there, with the eventual sale price reaching a remarkable $698,000…yes, more than $100,000 over expectations!
