Once again this week the combination of strong attendances at Open Houses and competitive bidding at auctions has produced a number of outstanding results for our vendors. Just some of the highlights of this week’s auctions were:
  • The 3 bedroom home with appeal for renovators, builders and investors at 32 Hillside Grove in Airport West attracted three strong bidders, resulting in an excellent sale at $642,500. This result was $42,500 above the very happy vendor’s reserve price.
  • Another excellent result in Airport West saw the well-presented 2 bedroom villa unit at 7A Bedford Street sell for $485,000. Again, this was comfortably above the reserve price.
  • An imposing 2-storey 4 bedroom home at 1/58 Vaynor Street in Niddrie (pictured) sold for a very satisfying $766,000.
  • A contemporary 3-level, 4 bedroom townhouse at 27A Newman Street in Niddrie got quite a few locals talking when it sold for $900,000.
With several other properties under negotiation as I written this Update, in price ranges that vary from the first home buyer bracket to the $1 million-plus range, the outlook for anyone thinking of selling in the next few months seems very positive indeed. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Best wishes, Bill Karp Director – Barry Plant Essendon & Niddrie
