Getting your timing right

Whilst the majority of Melbourne is sitting back, ready to enjoy the first long weekend of the New Year, I’m happy to report that the property market in Melbourne’s north-western suburbs is back in full swing again. In fact, it has been active for some weeks now.

As you may well have realised from some of our recent posts, the Summer market has been a very positive one for many of our clients here at Barry Plant, with some very strong sales being achieved in all areas and price ranges.

Our most recent sales in Ascot Vale, Airport West and Niddrie have proven that even the most recent activity over the “holiday season” is not simply “lookers” but genuine buyers keen to secure their next home…and there are lots more that are still looking.

So my advice to you is that if you are planning on selling in 2014, don’t make the mistake of assuming that it’s too early to get the process under way. Indeed, if you were to put your property on the market today, and you were considering an auction campaign, your auction isn’t likely to be held until late February at the earliest. You also need to remember that you’ve got the Labour Day weekend in March followed by the start of the AFL season, then Easter in April to allow for.

So the sooner you lock in the timing of your campaign, the better off you’re likely to be.

If we can be of assistance in helping you to maximise your result by getting your timing absolutely right, give us a call this week.

Enjoy your long weekend.
