The senior school students at Lowther Hall Anglican Grammar will be presenting their production of ‘Annie’ at the end of May, with over 120 girls participating in the cast, crew and orchestra.

The production is based on ‘Little Orphan Annie’, which started out life as a poem in 1885 before becoming a daily comic strip in the USA from 1924 to 2010. The comic strip was very successful, following the wide-ranging adventures of Annie, her dog Sandy and her benefactor Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks.

Little Orphan Annie also inspired a radio show in the 1930’s, a Broadway musical, and numerous film versions, the first of which was released before World war 2 whilst the most recent version was released in 2104 starring Rose Byrne, Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz.

Lowther Hall’s production promises a fun night’s entertainment, but there are only four shows scheduled at the Clocktower Centre between May 31st and June 2nd.  If you’d like to see this entertaining showcase of the talents of the senior students at Lowther Hall, you can obtain tickets by going direct to THE CLOCKTOWER WEBSITE.

About Lowther Hall: If you’re interested in enrolling your daughter at Lowther Hall, here’s what their 2018 School Captain, Emma, said about the school

“Being a student at Lowther Hall means that when we walk through the gate with our hats on each morning, we are entering a respectful and safe environment in which we can flourish into the best version of ourselves; both in the classroom and in co-curricular activities. We are challenged, supported and empowered by our caring teachers and peers, and are given opportunities to test our skills and broaden our horizons as young leaders. As students we are encouraged to strive for excellence and the development of strong interpersonal skills in all aspects of our learning, which is one of the many things that I love about Lowther!”
