Interest rate news brings confidence to buyers
This week’s announcement from the Reserve Bank that official interest rates would be remaining on hold this month seemed to add an extra level of energy to the activity of some buyers around the City of Moonee Valley this week.
We saw some pleasingly competitive bidding at some auctions, and equally determined negotiations on a number of key properties in our area this week.
Among a long list of recent sales results were:
Aberfeldie: 427A Buckley Street. One of only two on the block with no Owner’s Corporation, this three-bedroom home was sold for $780,000 after some productive mid-week negotiations.
Airport West: 1/24 Hart Street. This street-facing front townhouse generated strong early interest, so it was no surprise to see the SOLD sign go up well before its scheduled auction at $810,000.
Airport West: 14 Elm Street. Lovingly maintained by its one and only owners, this three bedroom home offered huge upside for the future and sold before its scheduled auction for $1.02 million.
Essendon: 5 Kendall Street. Offering generous family accommodation with a real sense of style, this five-bedroom home just around the corner from Montgomery reserve was sold during the week for $2.3 million.
Essendon West: 28A Emerald Street. Enhanced by superb city views, this striking contemporary four-bedroom, three-bathroom home was sold well before its scheduled auction, achieving $1.17 million.
Niddrie: 111A Hoffman’s Road. Competitive bidding at this week’s auction saw the SOLD sign go up on this sparkling brand new three-bedroom home (pictured).
Strathmore: 201/80 Bulla Road. Enjoying a prime corner position on level two of the highly regarded Dublin building, this three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment surprised many buyers with its usable space before selling for $853,000.
Positive results like these may have you thinking about your plans for the remainder of 2023. So if you’d like to make sure that you’re working with accurate numbers in doing that, don’t hesitate to give one of our team at Barry Plant Moonee Valley a call this week on 9373 0000.
We’d be more than happy to assist.
