The latest production from our friends at Strathmore Theatrical Arts Group (or STAG as they’re known by many local residents), is due to hit the stage in a few weeks, and this time those talented theatrical folk will be presenting a play that owes its origins to the ancient myth of Romulus and Remus.

“Children of the Wolf” is a rather dark production that tells the story of twins Robin and Linda, who were given up for adoption by their mother Helena shortly after their birth. Many years later, with their combined 21st birthdays looming, the twins trace their biological mother and lure her to an abandoned building on the pretext that she will be meeting Michael, her former lover. Here the twins reveal their identity to Helena, taunting her with sinister re-enactments of her past. Eventually she is forced to confess the true circumstances of her children’s past.

One important note from STAG is that this play contains adult themes as well as sexual and graphic violence. As a result, they advise that this production is not suitable for children under 16.

All STAG’s performances of ‘Children of the Wolf’ will be held at the Strathmore Community Hall in Loeman Street, with the opening night scheduled for Thursday August 15th. The season will run for just two weeks, comprising seven performances only, including a Sunday matinee on August 18th, so you would be wise to book your tickets as early as possible.
