Positive results despite interest rate move
The much anticipated move by the Reserve Bank this week to increase official interest rates came as no surprise to any of us, I’m sure.
Importantly, whilst some buyers seemed to be taking a little time to get their heads about what the future holds for the Moonee Valley property market, there were still quite a few buyers who showed no hesitation in taking positive action in order to secure their chosen property options.
Among our most recent results were:
Keilor East: 35 Sterling Drive. Carefully considered renovations made all the difference to this single-level three-bedroom home, with buyers commenting positively on the contemporary décor, the flow of the open living zones and the updated bathrooms. This week’s auction produced a pleasing sale at $1.075 million.
Moonee Ponds: 102 Holmes Road. A rare opportunity to secure a classic double-fronted period home (pictured) on a large allotment of around 782sqm of land, including a frontage of 24 metres, proved a tempting one. Being within walking distance of numerous popular attractions including the cafes on Puckle Street and Union Road, boutique shops, Maribyrnong River parklands, Queens Park and several highly regarded schools, this property attracted good interest resulting in a very satisfying sale at this week’s auction.
Strathmore: 7/11-13 Kilburn Street. Set securely at the rear of a well-maintained complex within a short walk of the Moonee Ponds Creek Trail, this one-bedroom villa attracted interest from a mix of first home buyers, investors and downsizers. So much interest, in fact, that it sold well before offers were due to close on its Sale by Set Date® campaign, with the SOLD sign going up at $435,000.
Keep in mind that if you are considering making a move, and are keen to hit the market in the post-election period, (before the worst of the Winter chills make an impact), the time to be making your preparations is right now. So if you’d like to discuss your options, don’t hesitate to give our team at Barry Plant Moonee Valley a call this week on 9373 0000.
Cheers,
