Sellers riding a strong wave this summer
Once again this week we have seen more examples of the strength of the Summer property market in our area. What’s more, the Summer auction season is still not complete with four more twilight auctions to come this week before we put away our auction gavels for 2017.
Among this week’s more notable results were:
32 Coniston Avenue, Airport West
This elevated 3-bedroom home with a lovely wide frontage offered a range of opportunities, from renovation or rebuilding to potential redevelopment. A very pleasing sale at $970,000 was the result.
191 Military Road, Avondale Heights
A convenient central location was part of the appeal of this 3-bedroom home which had been owned by the one family for more than 40 years. A mix of first home buyers and investors showed the most interest, taking the price to $727,500.
18A South Road, Airport West
Well-presented and located within a short walk of Westfield, this 3-bedroom villa set that the rear of a block of two saw strong competition which produced an excellent sale at $731,000.
2/5 Kalimna Street, Essendon
Situated in the highly regarded Windy Hill precinct, this immaculate 2-bedroom villa unit seemed to attract equal amounts of interest from those buying their first home and those downsizing to their last. As a result, it was smiles all round with a strong sale achieved at $768,000.
3/31 Cresswell Avenue, Airport West
Freshly completed and offering quality finishes in a modern contemporary setting, this 3-bedroom rear unit enjoyed a very satisfying mid-week sale at $689,000.
As I mentioned above, we still have four more auctions before the end of the year. However, if we don’t see you among the crowds at one of those, allow me to wish you, your family and friends all the best for a sale and relaxing Christmas break.
I hope that 2018 brings you all sorts of exciting opportunities.
