Some agents decided to bring auctions forward to Thursday evening, some postponed their auctions until the current lockdown ends, and some made the decision to continue with their scheduled auction by taking the event online.

What many observers of the property market will find interesting was that our decision to conduct six auctions online this Saturday proved to be the right one, as not only did all six sell, but they exceeded their combined reserves by a total of more than $540,000…a great result for our happy vendors!

They included:

Airport West: 4/26 Highridge Crescent. Offering a low maintenance lifestyle without sharing any walls, this generous three-bedroom townhouse certainly exceeded expectations when four bidders kept competing all the way to $805,000.

Avondale Heights: 20 Montpellier Drive. Moments from the riverside parks, this dual-level three-bedroom home was sold after post-auction negotiations produced $1.05 million.

Essendon: G02/120 Buckley Street. The strong demand for apartments in the City of Moonee Valley continues, with this modern one-bedroom example achieving $490,500.

Essendon: 4/18 Lawson Street. Combining intriguing architecture with a serene green outlook, this brand new three-bedroom townhouse scored a strong mid-week sale at $1.21 million.

Essendon: 72 Fitzgerald Road. Potential was the key word here, with a number of builders and developers among the five bidders who took this two-bedroom home all the way to $1.32 million, a remarkable 20 per cent above the reserve!

Keilor Park: 76 Eliza Street. Thoughtful renovations had added to the appeal of this three-bedroom home in a manicured garden setting. Four bidders pushed the price well beyond our vendor’s reserve before the gavel fell at $816,000.

Moonee Ponds: 9 Sydenham Street. Four bidders fought it out for the keys to this striking four-bedroom brick Victorian (pictured) with plenty of delightful period architectural features. The sale price of $1.915 million was more than $150,000 above the vendor’s expectations.

Niddrie: 11 Rutland Street. This deceptively spacious three-bedroom timber home with elevated views sold for $1.155 million, comfortably above expectations.
