When it comes to analysing the property market over the past year, and forecasting what to expect in the first part of 2022, there are lots of sources of data that we turn to.

However, the simple fact that the homebuyers in the bayside suburbs are still competing strongly for property of all types and price ranges, despite being just a week away from the Christmas break, probably tells you everything you want to know about the underlying strength of demand.

Here’s a summary of four of our auctions this weekend…

  1. Combining a low-maintenance lifestyle with a sought after position in the Frankston High School Zone, a four-bedroom town residence at the front of the block on Bayview Road sold at auction for $750,000.
  2. One hour later, a three-bedroom residence which was built at the rear of a block near Wallace Reserve just five years ago attracted interest from a mix of first home buyers and downsizers. A competitive auction saw the bidding for 2/34 Leawarra Parade rise all the way to $765,000.
  3. Meanwhile, across the street from the park in Balmerino Square, we auctioned a decidedly different opportunity. Offering a total of six bedrooms and three bathrooms, this substantial double-storey home (pictured) offered key features like bay views, two master bedrooms and plenty of potential for a future update if, and when, the new owners felt inclined. The auction produced an excellent result, selling for $1.03 million.
  4. Last but not least, our auction team headed to the Lakewood Estate to offer a family-friendly single-level home in Challenge Court. Comprising five bedrooms enhanced by multiple living zones, this home had plenty of appeal for growing families, particularly those who were drawn to being within walking distance of Kingsley Park Primary School. A pleasing sale at $905,000 was the result.

Of course, if you missed out at any of these auctions and are still keen to secure your next home before the festive season gets fully under way, we do have a couple more auctions scheduled this week, so be sure to check them out.

If, however, your main focus is selling your current home early in the new year, our team will be available this week to assist and advise you, so feel free to give us a call at Barry Plant Frankston on 9781 3100.
