Buyer activity doubles in a year

By any objective measure, it is becoming very clear that the property market in the City of Frankston and surrounding suburbs is attracting the attention of an increasing number of home buyers from all over Melbourne.

In recent times our team at Barry Plant Frankston has noticed a steady increase in the number of enquiries for property for sale, with buyers attracted by the solid value for money and excellent access to numerous lifestyle benefits of homes in our area.

This perception was reinforced by an interesting full-page article that appeared on page 29 of the Herald-Sun on Saturday, (July 24th), which used data from the REIV to analyse which suburbs around Melbourne offered the best value for money.

It came as no surprise to us that our part of Melbourne featured prominently in the list of top performing suburbs, with both Frankston North and Cranbourne North ranked among the Top 10.

These figures reinforce the most recent data from realestate.com.au which shows that whilst the overall property market in Melbourne has seen an increase of 82.7 per cent in sales numbers when compared with the same time last year, the south-eastern region has experienced a doubling of sales numbers over the same period.

The REA data also shows that the average views per listing across Victoria is up by 32.3 per cent, year-on-year, with the Mornington Peninsula seeing the highest average number of views-per-listing and the largest year-on-year increase of any area in Greater Melbourne.

With so many buyer’s eyes turning towards the local property market, it’s certainly a positive time to be selling a property in this area. Just keep in mind that the current lockdown will be over before we know it, and with the start of the Spring market just a matter of weeks away, the time to start getting the wheels in motion is right now.

If you’d like any assistance, or even just some tips on what the buyers may respond to, (and what they won’t), you can give us a call at Barry Plant Frankston on 9781 3100.

Best wishes,
