If you’re a keen observer of the Melbourne property market you’ll be aware that the bayside suburbs in general, and the Frankston area in particular, have attracted plenty of interest from home buyers in recent years.

Apart from the obvious lifestyle benefits that our area is known for, one of the key reasons behind this growing interest is the awareness of some substantial investments in local services and infrastructure that promise an even better lifestyle in years to come.

If you happened to be driving around Hastings Road this week you might have noticed that the surveyors have been busy working on the some of the preparatory tasks for the redevelopment of the new Frankston Hospital.

As many local residents will know, this new public asset is set to be the largest hospital development outside the Melbourne CBD. Due for completion in 2025, the works will add 120 new hospital beds, two new operating theatres and an additional 13 new emergency department beds. It will also provide a huge expansion of child and maternal health services including a new maternity ward, obstetrics ward, women’s clinic, paediatric ward and special care nursery, all of which will be great news for many of the young families that are planning on moving to Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula.

Another important aspect of the new development is that two levels of the 11-storey building will be devoted to mental health services, whilst there will also be more support for people battling cancer, with a new oncology ward and oncology day clinic.

With a build-up of key infrastructure in our local area like this, future residents of our area can look forward to additional benefits that will not only enhance our lifestyles, but potentially add to property values in the long term as well, which is always good news for local homeowners.

Of course, if you are interested in finding out what your property is currently worth, even if you are just curious or doing some financial planning for the future, you can call on our team at Barry Plant Frankston at any time on 9781 3100.

Cheers,
