Record-breaking Winter continues

It’s certainly been a Winter to remember so far, both for our local bayside market and the Melbourne property market in general.

As you may have seen reported during the week, there were well over 1500 properties scheduled to go under the hammer this weekend, well above the previous Winter record of 1064 auctions which was set in August 2015.

The good news for local homeowners is that not only did our team at Barry Plant Frankston achieve yet another 100 percent auction success rate for our vendors this week, but our recent sales results have confirmed the strength of the Winter market on a variety of property types and price ranges.

A cross-section of recent results has included:

Carrum Downs: 1 Crimson Crescent. Enjoying a sought-after park-side position a short stroll from Carrum Downs Secondary College, this modern double-storey four bedroom home certainly got the attention of local homeowners when it sold for $730,000.

Cranbourne: 2/53 Normanby Street. Offering modern low-maintenance living a short walk from the shops at Hunt Club Village, this striking three-bedroom townhouse saw the keys change hand at a very satisfying $575,000.

Frankston: 1/168 Cranbourne Road. This bright and breezy two-bedroom unit drew enquiries from buyers ranging from market entrants to downsizers, selling for $500,000.

Frankston: 1/44 Petrie Street. Comfy as is, but with excellent upside for the future, this two-bedroom home at the front of a subdivided block near the Bayside Shopping Centre found excited new owners at $557,000.

Frankston: 4 Vanessa Court. ‘Potential’ was the word on everyone’s lips when they inspected this charmingly original three-bedroom home near the off-lead dog park. A strong mid-week sale saw the SOLD sign go up at $575,000.

Frankston: 46 Kareela Road. A desirable location in the heart of Frankston added to the appeal of this older style three-bedroom home. The keys changed hands at an impressive $680,000.

Frankston: 2/5B Olympic Avenue. This week’s auction of a generously proportioned four-bedroom townhouse (pictured) backing onto Jubilee Park exceeded our happy vendor’s reserve, selling for $728,000.

Frankston North: 74 Brunning Crescent. Attracting good interest from a mix of market entrants, renovators and developers, this three-bedroom home a stone’s throw from Mahogany Rise Primary School achieved an excellent result, selling for $575,000.

If you’re considering selling and would like to discuss whether taking advantage of the strong Winter market would be in your best interests, don’t hesitate to give us a call this week at Barry Plant Frankston on 9781 3100.
