A chance to explore local price data

Given the outstanding sales results that were still being achieved by our team at Barry Plant Gladstone Park in the last few days of 2023, it is probably not surprising that we have seen strong activity levels since we reopened the doors after the short break for the festive season.

That’s certainly further positive news for homeowners in the City of Hume who may be thinking of making a move in the early months of 2024.

Thus, I thought this might be a timely opportunity to look at the latest property price data from PropTrack which examines what has happened over the past twelve months. When you consider the number of forecasters who were predicting price falls at this time last year, the numbers confirm just how resilient our local market is.

PropTrack’s data indicates that prices rose in 218 suburbs across Melbourne over the past year, with 50 of them recording rises that outpaced the average Australian income.

Among the median house prices recorded in the City of Hume and surrounding suburbs we saw:

Suburb: December median: Annual change:

Attwood $903,931 +3.57%

Gladstone Park $709,446 +0.86%

Gowanbrae $886,999 +1.39%

Greenvale $854,532 +0.53%

Tullamarine $722,363 +0.67%

Of course, this is only a sample of the figures from the City of Hume. So if you’d like an update on what your own property could achieve as we head into 2024, don’t hesitate to give our team at Barry Plant Gladstone Park a call this week on 9330 1088.
