One thing I’ve learned over two decades in real estate is that if someone is keen on your home, you could hold the auction at midnight in the middle of a blizzard, and all the buyers would still be there!

We saw another example of this on Saturday, when Mother Nature decided to provide us with the first really wet and windy auction day of 2019. Despite the less than delightful weather, people turned out in their droves, and it wasn’t just the coffee from the mobile Barista they were turning out for!

This week’s auction involved an intriguing architecturally designed custom built home in Wolverton Drive, Gladstone Park. This charming clinker brick home sprawled over four distinct levels to provide a wealth of living and entertaining options for a growing family. A total of four bedrooms were arranged so that parent’s suite was on a level of its own, along with an ensuite and a retreat or study area. Another unusual feature was the larger than expected allotment of around 740sqm.

Strategically positioned with Gladstone Park Shopping Centre, the Primary and Secondary Schools and the Park all just a stone’s throw away, this property presented as a complete lifestyle package and attracted over 100 buyer inspections during the campaign, so it was no surprise to see a large crowd gathering to watch the auction, despite the weather. In the end, five bidders fought it out, with the eventual sale price of $703,000 being above the expectations of our happy vendors. As you can see in the photo, the buyers seemed as happy about the result as our sellers!
