Buyers looking further afield in tight market

There’s been plenty of talk recently about the shortage of available property for sale in the City of Hume and how this is impacting on many of those aspiring buyers who are becoming increasingly frustrated in the competitive market conditions.

One of the trends that is becoming more noticeable in these conditions is that some buyers who might previously only have looked at more established areas are now looking slightly further afield, with areas like Mickleham reaping the benefit.

In fact, our team at Barry Plant Gladstone Park has achieved several outstanding sales results in Mickleham in the past few weeks alone. These included:

Frangipani Drive, Mickleham. The recent strong interest in house and land packages from aspiring first home buyers is continuing with another sale being completed here at $479,000.

Barkers Crescent, Mickleham. Standing proudly on a corner in the Merrifield Estate, this near new double-storey four-bedroom home attracted interest from a mix of young families and local families looking to upgrade to a home where everything was already done. The keys changed hands at a very satisfying $575,000.

Durum Way, Mickleham. As I mentioned in one of my recent posts, our team completed the sale of a newly completed four-bedroom home (pictured) in a brand-new Estate, with interest coming from a variety of buyers from young couples to downsizers. The SOLD sign went up at $630,000 within two days of it hitting the market!

Of course, the past couple of weeks has also seen the exciting news of the expansion of our team, including our sealing of closer ties with our colleagues in the Barry Plant offices at Keilor East and Essendon. This is exciting news for our clients in the City of Hume, particularly those selling properties that may benefit from increased exposure to buyers on the other side of the Freeway.

With this in mind, I would strongly recommend that if you are planning on selling in 2021, and are keen to find out how much more your property could achieve with some additional buyer exposure, feel free to give us a call at Barry Plant Gladstone Park this week on 9330 1088.

Best wishes,

Nick Pugliese - Sales Director
