If you’re a regular reader of these reports, you’ll already know that there have already been several really good reasons for local property owners and residents to smile so far this January...

Whether it’s been reports on the possibility of further interest rate cuts in 2019, or the fact that our area of Melbourne has been forecast to be one of Melbourne's top performing markets this year, there have been lots of reasons for home owners in the City of Hume to feel really positive about the future.

The good news this week is that we got to play a role in two more good reasons for locals to smile this week…one very much real estate related, and one that says a lot about the benefits of living in this area generally.

First of all, on the real estate front, we have been reminded that despite many people’s perceptions, the property market has been very active again so far in January. There is a common misconception that January is a quiet time for the real estate market, but history has shown that we meet tend to meet more buyers in January than at any other time of the year. In fact, realestate.com.au recently confirmed that they receive their highest click-rates of the year in January. So that’s positive news for anyone considering putting their property on the market in the next few weeks.

On a community level, our team at Barry Plant Gladstone Park also had the opportunity to sponsor another free outdoor movie session together with the City of Hume on Friday evening. We’ve been strong supporters of these valued community events in the past, and this week’s event included the screening of the movie ‘Paddington 2’ at Greenvale Recreation Reserve. It was great to see so many locals turning out on a warm January evening to enjoy a family-friendly film, along with a sausage sizzle, the ice cream truck and lots of family fun.

Events like these are a terrific reminder of the sense of community we enjoy in this area, so we can’t wait for the movie night which is coming up in Tullamarine in February. Hopefully we’ll see you there. In the meantime, don’t forget that if you need any help on any real estate matter, you can call us on 03 9330 1088.
