As many of our readers will be aware, the past month or two has seen an increased level of anxiety among the property investment community with the changes to the regulations governing residential tenancies coming into effect on the 29th of March.

As is often the case in situations like this, some sections of the media decided to do some scare mongering in the lead-up to the changes, so it was no surprise to receive a number of calls from nervous property owners keen to clarify what was happening. However, we are pleased to advise that the transition to the new rules has gone smoothly and that all of the Property Management team at Barry Plant Gladstone Park are fully up to speed on the new requirements.

In fact, the month of March proved to be a particularly strong one for the rental market in the City of Hume and surrounding suburbs. Not only has the enquiry rate from prospective renters remained strong, but our team managed to negotiate 22 successful lettings in March alone, which was a great result given the uncertainty that was affecting so many rental transactions. Based on these numbers, we believe that the signs are looking positive for another strong month ahead.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that if you have any questions about the new rental regulations in general, or your rental property in particular, one phone call to our office should put your mind at ease. So don’t hesitate to give our award-winning Property Management team a call at any time on 9330 1088, or our Property Management Director, Grace Pugliese, on 0413 139 752.
