What a remarkable year it’s been for the property market in the City of Hume, particularly when you consider how uncertain the overall market was at the start of 2019!

Obviously, the sale that everyone is talking about this week is our remarkable auction result at 7 Bateman Street, Attwood (pictured). A highly effective marketing campaign overseen by Ghizlaine Digby saw over 200 people watch five bidders compete for the keys. The eventual sale price of $1.45 million set a new benchmark for the Cambridge Estate, exceeding the previous record by $149,000!

However, that wasn’t the only record the team at Barry Plant Gladstone Park set in 2019. As some of our regular readers will recall, our sale at 14 Henley Drive for $780,000 was the highest price paid for a home in Gladstone Park in 2019, whilst the big result at 12 Cobblestone Drive was the highest price paid in Attwood’s Alanbrae Estate this year.

To complete the set of ground-breaking results, our team also set a new record for the Umbra Estate during the week. The sale of a five-bedroom home at 29 Bonds Lane in Greenvale for $890,000 exceeded the previous record of $850,000, which was set by our team a few months earlier!

Another exciting sale at the end of a memorable year included our twilight auction on Wednesday where a crowd of over 100 saw a three-bedroom home in Roston Way, Roxburgh Park selling for $496,000, close to 20% above our thrilled vendor’s reserve price.

Add in this week’s sales of a three-bedroom home in Meadow Heights, a new townhouse in Westmeadows and a vacant homesite in Greenvale, and you can see that it’s been a very productive finish to the year for the team.

Results like these certainly provide plenty of confidence for anyone planning on selling in 2020. If you would like to discuss your plans for next year, keep in mind that our office will be closed from Wednesday December 25th and will reopen on Monday January 6th.

In closing, allow me to wish you a merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year. I hope you have a safe, relaxing and enjoyable break, and that the next few weeks provide you with an opportunity to recharge the batteries and to reconnect all those special people in your life.

We look forward to assisting you with all your property needs in 2020.

Cheers,

Nick Pugliese – Director
