Yes, the weather had a decidedly wintery feel this week, but there was no sign of any ‘chilling’ among the home buyers in the City of Hume, with our team successfully producing strong sales on all six of this week’s scheduled auctions.

Here’s a few details on some of our more notable recent results:

Airport West: 2/52 McIntosh Street. This auction provided another reminder of the advantages our vendors enjoy through the close co-operation of the different offices within our network. Four bidders fought it out, having been introduced through our Essendon, Keilor East and Gladstone Park offices, with our own Michael Sassine guiding the successful buyers to a sale well above reserve at $625,000.

Greenvale: 13 Red Wattle Way. This brand new four-bedroom home made an impact with its unusual tri-tone front façade and its quality internal finishes. A highly effective auction campaign saw the gavel fall at a very pleasing $810,000.

Greenvale: 28 Avisha Way. Close proximity to parks and schools, including Aitken College, added to the family appeal of this modern double-storey four-bedroom home. The sold sign went up at an exceptional $945,000.

Greenvale: 164 Normanby Drive. The clever use of curves helped set our third auction of the day in Greenvale apart, with a strong offer of just under the $1 million-mark getting the deal done on this architect-designed home just prior to this week’s scheduled auction.

Westmeadows: 13 Evita Terrace. This neat one-owner three-bedroom home with a park at the end of the court drew an immediate response the moment it hit the market, with the vendors deciding to accept a convincing early offer of $770,000 rather than waiting for this week’s scheduled auction.

Westmeadows: 100 Raleigh Street. Filled with cottage charm and set in a well-established garden, this three-bedroom timber home soared well past its reserve to sell for $1.02 million. As you can see from the photo, everyone involved in the sale looked thrilled with the result.

The team also put together another successful sale on a house and land package in Mickleham this week, but more about that next week.

In the meantime, the key lesson for anyone considering selling in 2021 is that the current Winter market is producing outstanding results in all prices and locations around our area. So if you’d like an obligation-free update on how much more you could achieve for your property if you were to sell now, you can give us a call at Barry Plant Gladstone Park this week on 9330 1088.
