The high level of buyer confidence in the property market in the City of Hume was evident once again this week, with a strong sale being achieved at the auction of a classic Tudor-style home in the highly regarded Shannon Rise Estate.

This eye-catching four-bedroom home at 43 Kirkham Drive, Greenvale, adjoining the Yuroke Creek Reserve, attracted competitive interest from four bidders, two of which were bidding online. In fact, one of the bidders was competing from their car whilst on their way to a wedding…amazing what the digital age has enabled us to do, isn’t it!?

As you can see from the photo, it was smiles all round when this distinctive property was sold under the hammer for $795,000.

Importantly, results like these confirm what we have been seeing in the latest market statistics from the REIV. Their Quarterly median property data for the March quarter just ended showed that property in the City of Hume has continued to show impressive price growth over the past year.

The report shows the following annual changes to the end of March 2022:

Tullamarine houses Up by 20.0%

Overall, houses in the City of Hume recorded a growth in median prices of 10.8% over the year, whilst units grew by 4.0%.

The important thing to keep in mind is that figures like these can indicate what is happening in your suburb, but each property is different. So if you’d like an obligation-free update on what your own property could achieve in the current market, you can give our team at Barry Plant Gladstone Park a call this week on 9330 1088.
