That special first home buzz

As anyone who has gone through the process of buying their first home will tell you, it’s often a journey that has its fair share of hurdles and detours along the way. But it’s also a process that usually has an unforgettable “moment” at the end of the journey, when you finally find that special home that truly clicks with you, and you beat the other buyers to secure it.

We were reminded of this first home buzz this week when our auction of an appealing three-bedroom unit in Carol Grove, Tullamarine saw a very happy couple bringing their search for their first home to a conclusion with the help of our team.

Boasting its own street frontage and an ultra-convenient position close to the shops on Melrose Drive as well as Westfield in nearby Airport West, Tullamarine Primary School and Hedger Reserve, this charming property attracted interest from local downsizers and investors as well as first home buyers, but it was market entrants who seized the day with a winning bid of $641,000. This figure was more than 15 per cent above our happy vendor’s reserve.

As you can see from the photo, they were full of smiles (and a bit relieved), when the auctioneers gavel fell in their favour.

In fact, we saw some figures this week which confirmed just how much the landscape has changed for first home buyers over the past few years. A recent report from Digital Data Analytics found that over the past ten years alone, the average age of a first home buyer in Australia’s two largest capital cities has increased from the mid-20’s to the mid-30’s…My how things have changed!

Having been involved in real estate for so long now, including assisting literally thousands of Australians of all ages to get their foot on the ladder of the property market, I cannot over emphasise enough the importance of getting advice and tips from experienced property professionals.

With this in mind, I would invite anyone who is looking for their next home in today’s competitive property market, (whether it’s your first home or your last), to reach out to our team at Barry Plant Gladstone Park on 9330 1088 if you need any guidance or assistance at all.

We are always more than happy to assist if we can.

Best wishes,
