Maybe there was something in the air due to the fact that the last day of Summer this year only happens every four years, but the buyers were certainly busy trying to make sure that they ended the season with their name on a real estate contract!

Not only did we see the SOLD sign go up on seven of our auctions this weekend, but with negotiations continuing on several other properties as I write this Update, it seems that the Summer market is going out on much the same positive note that it started three months ago.

Among the results that put smiles on so many faces this week were:

Aberfeldie: 2A May Street

Enjoying a classic Aberfeldie address with parks and the river close by, this striking four-bedroom contemporary showpiece made the most of a competitive auction to sell for an impressive $1.83 million.

Aberfeldie: 11/37 St Kinnord Street

At the opposite end of the price spectrum in Aberfeldie, this single-bedroom flat attracted interest from a mix of market entrants and investors before selling for $300,000.

Airport West: 4/52 Fraser Street

Set securely at the rear of a boutique group of four, this modern three-bedroom unit offered a hassle-free lifestyle close to the McNamara Avenue shops. The sale at $685,000 certainly exceeded expectations.

Airport West: 44 Elstone Avenue

Set on around 697sqm in one of Airport West’s most tightly held pockets, this neat four-bedroom home offered plenty of appeal for those for a site to build anew. The SOLD sign went up at a remarkable $991,000, which was well above our delighted vendor’s reserve.

Essendon: 4/155 Deakin Street

Three keen bidders raised their hand for this appealing two-bedroom villa unit situated within moments of the shops, cafes and trams on Keilor Road. An outstanding sale at $620,000 was the result.

Maribyrnong: 27/2 Horizon Drive

Enjoying easy access to Highpoint Shopping Centre, this modern two-bedroom apartment (pictured) attracted the interest of owner-occupiers as well as investors, selling for $420,000.

Don’t forget, if you are currently weighing up whether now is the right time to make the most of the current market conditions, don’t hesitate to one of the award-winning team at Barry Plant Moonee Valley a call on 9319 1700.

Best wishes,
